Chepang Self-help Project

Greetings! As informed you earlier, I took a planned pre-project implementation visit to Self-help Repair and Maintenance Shelter Initiative from 24 November to 26 November. On early morning (7:00 am) of 25 November, together with my school friend Uttam KC and Ujjwal, a Sai Youth Coordinator from Narayan Ghat who had volunteered to help me, we departed. After some two and half hour of drive from the base in Nawalpur, where I had put myself, to Bhandara, it took us some another three and half hour to drive a distance of 28 km to meeting site to Ramirang Danda where all the heads / representatives of beneficiary families were gathered for meeting.

Daplung Project Update

Excerpt: Dr. Surendra Bahadur Panday visited Daplung to review the progress of the revolving fund project and meet beneficiaries after nearly 18 months. Despite challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and recent natural disasters, beneficiaries have continued their income-generating activities and expressed gratitude for FIPMO’s support. In recognition of the difficulties faced, FIPMO approved a two-year extension of the project period, allowing beneficiaries additional time to complete a full loan cycle. The beneficiaries reaffirmed their commitment to repay the funds and support future project expansion by sharing their experiences with other communities.

FIPMO’s Memorandum of Agreement with the Southwestern Centre for Research and PhD Studies, signed in January 2019, continues to facilitate the contribution of FIPMO members’ professional knowledge and academic expertise to PhD students and academic activities.

Daplung Community Livelihood and Revolving Fund Project

On 6 Baishakh 2074, FIPMO handed over NPR 320,000 to support a revolving fund project for 32 women from Daplung village, Lalitpur. The initiative aimed to support home-based income generation, strengthen women’s group participation and financial management, and promote sustainable livelihoods through a community-led revolving fund.
