is a non-political civil society organization of former international professionals of the United Nations Organizations, the World Bank, Regional Banks, other multilateral organizations and International Non-Government Organzations. We provide a forum to channel the expertise and experience of our members for the benefit of Nepal and its people, through both supportive and advocacy roles.

Message From Chairperson

It is my distinct honor to welcome you to the official website of the Former International Professionals of Multilateral Organizations (FIPMO). Established in 2016, FIPMO was founded with a singular, patriotic mission to contribute to Nepal’s development by channeling the collective global expertise of our members.

FIPMO is a member-based organization composed of international experts who have dedicated their careers to diverse spheres of global development. Having served in prominent institutions, including the United Nations, the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank, and various other International Non-Governmental Organization (INGO), our members have returned home to apply their extensive experience toward nation-building.

Our Executive Committee is dedicated to strengthening the national development agenda through high-level advocacy, capacity enhancement and targeted, grassroots-level initiatives. We strive to foster institutional excellence and promote a global knowledge base by advancing research and capacity building, while supporting social, educational, economic, and humanitarian progress.

To achieve these goals, we actively partner with government agencies, international organizations, civil society, academia, the private sector, and the information sector to foster holistic growth. This platform serves as a hub for our ongoing collaborations and reflects our steadfast commitment to institutional integrity.

Activities

Joint Field Visit to Rimalgaun–Nuwakot and Temporary Holding Centres

On Bhadra 19, 2083, FIPMO, Sahaj Foundation, FRESH International and NCV Nepal conducted a joint field visit to Rimalgaun–Nuwakot and the Temporary Holding Centres in Bidur Municipality to assess the situation of flood-affected communities and identify immediate and longer-term areas of support and coordination.

Daplung Community Livelihood and Revolving Fund Project: From Recovery to Resilience

On 26 July 2026, FIPMO presented an update on the Daplung Community Livelihood and Revolving Fund Project, highlighting its progress in supporting women’s livelihoods, community resilience and self-reliance through a community-managed revolving fund.

University of Nepal & FIPMO Collaboration

FIPMO and the University of Nepal (UNepal) are exploring collaboration in policy dialogue, research, academic engagement and professional networking. During FIPMO’s Second Quarterly Meeting on 26 July 2026, representatives of UNepal presented the University’s vision, institutional model and potential areas of partnership. FIPMO welcomed the proposed collaboration, with areas including joint policy forums, collaborative research, engagement of FIPMO members as resource persons, networking, resource mobilization and selected academic and capacity-building initiatives.

International Women’s Day Celebration & Support Handover

FIPMO observed International Women’s Day 2026 through a meaningful program at Nepal Snehi Kaakha, Dhapakhel, combining awareness activities with community support initiatives. The event was successfully coordinated by Bijay Karmacharya and family, with valuable contributions from 17 FIPMO members who collectively raised NPR 211,000. The support included essential food, hygiene, clothing, stationery, and sports materials for the residents and school-going children. Members also expressed their commitment to supporting the center’s future infrastructure development, reflecting FIPMO’s continued dedication to social responsibility and community welfare.

Flagship Project: School Uniform Initiative

FIPMO’s School Uniform Initiative promotes Nepal’s cultural heritage by incorporating traditional elements into school uniforms while creating opportunities for local artisans, garment workers, women entrepreneurs, and small businesses.

FIPMO, in collaboration with AFCAN and CDD, organized a National Talk Programme titled "Artificial Intelligence and Its Implications for Nepal" in Gwarko, Lalitpur.

On December 7, 2025, AFCAN, CDD, and FIPMO jointly organized a high-level national talk programme titled “Artificial Intelligence and Its Implications for Nepal” in Gwarko, Lalitpur. Bringing together senior diplomats, policymakers, and AI experts, the event explored AI’s growing role in foreign policy, governance, economic development, and digital sovereignty. Speakers emphasized the need for Nepal to adopt proactive AI policies, strengthen technological self-reliance, and harness AI to transform key sectors while addressing emerging ethical and cybersecurity challenges.

Protection of Migrant Workers and Their Rights to Live with Dignity and Respect

This paper presents FIPMO’s flagship initiative on labour migration, examining the challenges faced by Nepali migrant workers and outlining FIPMO’s proposed role in promoting their protection, safety, rights, and dignity. It highlights FIPMO’s engagement with government and other stakeholders, policy advocacy, awareness and accountability efforts, partnerships, and the proposed establishment of a One Stop Center for migrant worker information and support.

Seminar report on Strategies for Dynamic, Effective and Development-Oriented Foreign Policy

The Association of Former Career Ambassadors of Nepal (AFCAN), the Association of Former Nepali Ambassadors (AFNA), and the Forum of Former International Professionals of Multilateral Organizations (FIPMO) jointly organized a half-day seminar titled “Strategies for a Dynamic, Effective, and Development-Oriented Foreign Policy” on May 7th, 2024. The seminar featured the illustrious presence of Dr. Bhekh Bahadur Thapa, who was also the keynote speaker. Ambassador Dr. Shambhu Ram Simkhada and Prof. Dr. Meena Vaidhya Malla served as key commentators on the keynote speech presented by Dr. Thapa.

Project Concept Second Phase of Self-help Repair and Maintenance Program of Shelter for Chepang Families with Home-based Gainful Activities Technically supported by Keshar Agro-Farm, Gorsadhi, Nawalpur

This project concept outlines the second phase of FIPMO’s self-help shelter repair and livelihood support programme for Chepang families in Ramirang Danda, Chitwan. The initiative focuses on goat-based home livelihoods, community training, technical support from Keshar Agro-Farm, and a revolving model to gradually extend support to other vulnerable families.
