Organizations (FIPMO) is a non-political civil society organization of former international professionals of the United Nations Organizations, the World Bank, Regional Banks and other multilateral organizations. We provide a forum to channel the expertise and experience of our members for the benefit of Nepal and its people, through both supportive and advocacy roles.

Message From Chairperson

It is my distinct honor to welcome you to the official website of the Former International Professionals of Multilateral Organizations (FIPMO). Established in 2016, FIPMO was founded with a singular, patriotic mission: to contribute to Nepal’s development by channeling the collective global expertise of our members.

FIPMO is a member-based organization composed of international experts who have dedicated their careers to diverse spheres of global development. Having served in prominent institutions—including the United Nations, the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank, and various other international organizations—our members have returned home to apply their extensive experience toward nation-building.

Our Executive Committee is dedicated to strengthening the national development agenda through high-level advocacy, capacity enhancement and targeted, grassroots-level initiatives. We strive to foster institutional excellence and promote a global knowledge base by advancing research and capacity building, while supporting social, educational, economic, and humanitarian progress.

To achieve these goals, we actively partner with government agencies, international organizations, civil society, academia, the private sector, and the information sector to foster holistic growth. This platform serves as a hub for our ongoing collaborations and reflects our steadfast commitment to institutional integrity.

FIPMO assistance to Earthquake victims in Nallu and Bhardeu village and Khokana

A FIPMO relief mission visited Nallu and Bhardeu villages in Lalitpur on 7th May to support earthquake-affected families. Around 200 roofing sheets, along with cash assistance for rope and essential supplies, were distributed to households identified by local volunteers, with support from army and police personnel for coordination.In Nallu, assistance was provided to 185 families, while Bhardeu received 15 tents, cash support, and additional food supplies. The distribution aimed to prioritize households that had not yet received relief materials, amid widespread housing damage affecting nearly 500 homes in the area.

FIPMO Field Visit to Peace Sanctuary Project, Lumbini

FIPMO Self-help Shelter Repair and Livelihood Support Project for Chepang Families – Second Phase

Since the COVID 19 situation, on 8th December 2021, for the first time a monitoring visit was conducted to Ramirang Danda village to physically verify the status of the houses by 14 beneficiary families of self-help repair and maintenance project supported by FIPMO and discuss to agree with them on a modality of 2nd phase implementation of the project. Of the 14 beneficiaries of shelter-project, only 13 families were present. One family who also had received the shelter materials and warm blankets from FIPMO had stored the materials in their house and left the village for some for unknown period for work in Bhandara - Bharatpur. Therefore, this family was not counted anymore as beneficiaries under the 2nd phase program.

FIPMO, in collaboration with AFCAN and CDD, organized a National Talk Programme titled "Artificial Intelligence and Its Implications for Nepal" in Gwarko, Lalitpur.

On December 7, 2025, AFCAN, CDD, and FIPMO jointly organized a high-level national talk programme titled “Artificial Intelligence and Its Implications for Nepal” in Gwarko, Lalitpur. Bringing together senior diplomats, policymakers, and AI experts, the event explored AI’s growing role in foreign policy, governance, economic development, and digital sovereignty. Speakers emphasized the need for Nepal to adopt proactive AI policies, strengthen technological self-reliance, and harness AI to transform key sectors while addressing emerging ethical and cybersecurity challenges.

Daplung Project Update

Excerpt:Dr. Surendra Bahadur Panday visited Daplung to review the progress of the revolving fund project and meet beneficiaries after nearly 18 months. Despite challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and recent natural disasters, beneficiaries have continued their income-generating activities and expressed gratitude for FIPMO’s support. In recognition of the difficulties faced, FIPMO approved a two-year extension of the project period, allowing beneficiaries additional time to complete a full loan cycle. The beneficiaries reaffirmed their commitment to repay the funds and support future project expansion by sharing their experiences with other communities.

Website Development Agreement Signed with Flashmandu Traders

FIPMO officially signed the Website Development Agreement with Flashmandu Traders on 22 May 2026 at Flashmandu's office, marking the beginning of the organization's website redevelopment project.The agreement was signed by FIPMO Chairperson Ms. Samjhana Shrestha, with Mr. Bijay B. Karmacharya serving as witness. Flashmandu Traders was represented by Managing Director Mr. Shirish Maharjan and Executive Director Mr. Samip Bhattarai.With the contract now finalized, work on the development of the new FIPMO website has officially commenced. The new website aims to provide an improved platform for sharing FIPMO's activities, events, publications, and other important information with members and stakeholders.As part of the development process, content materials, photographs, and organizational information will be compiled to support the creation of the new website. FIPMO looks forward to launching a modern and user-friendly website in the coming months.
