Message From Chairperson

It is my distinct honor to welcome you to the official website of the Former International Professionals of Multilateral Organizations (FIPMO). Established in 2016, FIPMO was founded with a singular, patriotic mission: to contribute to Nepal’s development by channeling the collective global expertise of our members.

FIPMO is a member-based organization composed of international experts who have dedicated their careers to diverse spheres of global development. Having served in prominent institutions—including the United Nations, the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank, and various other international organizations—our members have returned home to apply their extensive experience toward nation-building.

Our Executive Committee is dedicated to strengthening the national development agenda through high-level advocacy, capacity enhancement and targeted, grassroots-level initiatives. We strive to foster institutional excellence and promote a global knowledge base by advancing research and capacity building, while supporting social, educational, economic, and humanitarian progress.

To achieve these goals, we actively partner with government agencies, international organizations, civil society, academia, the private sector, and the information sector to foster holistic growth. This platform serves as a hub for our ongoing collaborations and reflects our steadfast commitment to institutional integrity.

FIPMO assistance to Earthquake victims in Nallu and Bhardeu village and Khokana

A FIPMO relief mission visited Nallu and Bhardeu villages in Lalitpur on 7th May to support earthquake-affected families. Around 200 roofing sheets, along with cash assistance for rope and essential supplies, were distributed to households identified by local volunteers, with support from army and police personnel for coordination.In Nallu, assistance was provided to 185 families, while Bhardeu received 15 tents, cash support, and additional food supplies. The distribution aimed to prioritize households that had not yet received relief materials, amid widespread housing damage affecting nearly 500 homes in the area.

Former International Professionals of Multilateral Organizations (FIPMO) Annual General Meeting 2025: Advancing Safe and Dignified Labour Migration

During its Annual General Meeting on 26 January 2025 at Alice Conference, Pulchowk, FIPMO reaffirmed its commitment to protecting the rights of migrant workers through its flagship Labour Migration programme. The meeting reviewed the challenges faced by migrant workers throughout the migration cycle, highlighted ongoing government initiatives, and outlined FIPMO's role in supporting policy advocacy, awareness campaigns, One Stop Centers, resource mobilization, and collaboration with national and international partners to promote safe, systematic, and dignified labour migration.

FIPMO, AFNA and AFCAN jointly organized a seminar in Kathmandu titled "Strategies for a Dynamic, Effective, and Development-Oriented Foreign Policy."

On May 7, 2024, FIPMO, AFNA, and AFCAN jointly organized a half-day seminar in Kathmandu on “Strategies for a Dynamic, Effective, and Development-Oriented Foreign Policy.” The programme brought together distinguished diplomats, academics, and foreign policy experts to discuss the evolving nature of diplomacy, emphasizing the growing role of non-state actors, the importance of collaboration in international relations, and the need for consistent, development-oriented foreign policy backed by effective implementation.

Former International Professionals of Multilateral Organizations (FIPMO) Sixth General Meeting: Strengthening Protection for Migrant Workers

At its Sixth General Meeting held on 5 September 2024 at The Lawn, Pulchowk, FIPMO discussed the growing challenges of labour migration and the protection of migrant workers' rights. The meeting highlighted issues such as exploitation, trafficking, gender-based vulnerabilities, reintegration of returnee migrants, and the need for safe, dignified, and accountable migration systems. Members also explored how FIPMO can support government initiatives through advocacy, awareness, collaboration, and the development of a flagship programme to strengthen migrant worker protection throughout the migration cycle.

FIPMO, in collaboration with AFCAN and CDD, organized a National Talk Programme titled "Artificial Intelligence and Its Implications for Nepal" in Gwarko, Lalitpur.

On December 7, 2025, AFCAN, CDD, and FIPMO jointly organized a high-level national talk programme titled “Artificial Intelligence and Its Implications for Nepal” in Gwarko, Lalitpur. Bringing together senior diplomats, policymakers, and AI experts, the event explored AI’s growing role in foreign policy, governance, economic development, and digital sovereignty. Speakers emphasized the need for Nepal to adopt proactive AI policies, strengthen technological self-reliance, and harness AI to transform key sectors while addressing emerging ethical and cybersecurity challenges.

Interim Report on Self-help Repair and Maintenance Project for Chepangs

This interim report outlines the initiation of the FIPMO Self-help Shelter Repair and Maintenance Project for Chepang families, one of Nepal’s most marginalized communities. The field mission (24–28 December 2020) focused on distributing construction materials and winterization support. Despite logistical challenges due to difficult road conditions, all materials—including corrugated sheets, nails, tools, and blankets—were successfully delivered and acknowledged by beneficiaries in Kali Chaur, Ramirang Danda.The project’s first phase has been initiated, with beneficiaries committed to completing house repairs within the stipulated timeframe. While planned support from external agencies such as WFP, WaterAid, and UNHCR was not secured, procurement efficiencies resulted in significant budget savings. The remaining funds (Rs. 308,192) are proposed for use in the second phase of the project, subject to donor approval.

Website Development Agreement Signed with Flashmandu Traders

FIPMO officially signed the Website Development Agreement with Flashmandu Traders on 22 May 2026 at Flashmandu's office, marking the beginning of the organization's website redevelopment project.The agreement was signed by FIPMO Chairperson Ms. Samjhana Shrestha, with Mr. Bijay B. Karmacharya serving as witness. Flashmandu Traders was represented by Managing Director Mr. Shirish Maharjan and Executive Director Mr. Samip Bhattarai.With the contract now finalized, work on the development of the new FIPMO website has officially commenced. The new website aims to provide an improved platform for sharing FIPMO's activities, events, publications, and other important information with members and stakeholders.As part of the development process, content materials, photographs, and organizational information will be compiled to support the creation of the new website. FIPMO looks forward to launching a modern and user-friendly website in the coming months.
