FIPMO Interaction with National Planning Commission Vice-Chairman Dr. Govinda Prasad Pokharel

Dr. Govinda Prasad Pokharel, Vice-chairman of the National Planning Commission, said that the country needs to strengthen ICE (…) with focus on TEA (Tourism, Energy, and Agriculture) in the days to come in order to improve the economic status of Nepalese household.

 Dr. Pokharel was speaking at a gathering of former international professionals of multilateral organizations, who are in the process of establishing a forum named FIPMO (Forum of Former International Professionals of Multilateral Organizations).  More than twenty professionals of various disciplines, who had served the United Nations or other Multilateral Organizations, and their spouses, attended the dinner at Hotel Radisson on 12 October.

 Dr. Pokharel shared the current thinking of developing a medium term plan.  He said that the establishment of FIPMO, with the purpose of providing a forum for members to channel their experience and expertise for the benefit of Nepal and its people, was very timely.  He expressed his intention to invite FIPMO for discussions and to share the experience and expertise of its members with him and his team engaged in the development of medium term plan and other initiatives.

 On the occasion, Mr. Bhim Udas, convener of the FIPMO ad hoc Committee welcomes the guest and members and highlighted the purpose of FIPMO.
