FIPMO, with the initiative and active participation of its members, launched “SIGHT FOR ALL: Community Eye Care Support to School-Going Children and Senior Citizens of Panchkhal and Kolhavi Municipalities.” The nine-month project, implemented from March to December 2025, aimed to improve access to essential eye care services for school-going children, senior citizens, and communities in underserved areas.

Locations: Panchkhal (Wards 1 & 2), Kolhavi (Ward 5), and Mustang

Key interventions included:

Training of health workers and teachers
Eye check-ups in schools and community eye screening
Cataract surgeries and distribution of eyeglasses
Community awareness and outreach programmes

The project reached approximately 3,400 direct beneficiaries through eye screening, eyeglasses, and cataract surgeries, with an estimated 11,500 indirect beneficiaries from the surrounding communities.

The project was implemented in collaboration with the Nepal Eye Program, Tilganga Institute of Ophthalmology (TIO) as the lead implementing agency, the SIGHT Group (SG), Grande Social Foundation (GSF), and the local governments of Panchkhal and Kolhavi Municipalities.

The initiative demonstrates FIPMO’s commitment to mobilizing its members’ professional and voluntary engagement, together with technical and financial resources from partner institutions, to support meaningful community-level impact.
